The only 1 I have heard of was the Remington Rand & that was produced some time ago. Although there were over a million produced.
Indeed, if "Remington" [the rifle company as we know it] gets to producing a 1911 it will be a first time venture.
Remington Rand produced 1911A1's under contract to the US government during WWII. Remington Rand was a business machine company back in the day.
By the end of the war Remington Rand had produced over 875,000 pistols, almost as many as Colt (628,808) and Ithaca (335,467) combined. - Reference Charles Clawsons “Colt .45 Service pistols”.

Hey NAA, how much would somebody have to part with to buy a piece of history like that? One that hasn't been butchered. Id lay odds that the Rem Rand would probably be the cheapest of the war pistols being the most plentiful? I have a sudden urge to snap one of those up while I can in my lifetime. I think it would be neat to pass on to future generations. I doubt there gonna get any cheaper neither.
I apologize for my hijacking.
Crap! I just got another Colt 1911 ... now I am going to have to try to explain the need for this one to the wife ...
