Remington making 1911's again!

Sad, but sometimes true. The Shooting Times article mentioned a few jams, etc. Some guns need a break in period, but some 1911's need more than that. Hopefully this will not be the case here.

John Browning was a firearms god at design. Since I was young there has always been and still is mega pages in every gun magazine covered with pics of a newer, bigger, smaller, heavier, lighter etc. 1911. I'm getting older now and there seems to be no end to this nonsense. With the proliferation of 1911 makers over the years why is it a shooter has to pay at least $1000 and more to get a duty worthy 1911 out of the box? I'd figured they would have these ALL perfected by now considering I've watched this going on now since 1980 when I could buy guns.

It's like buying a H-D bike then having to dump $5000 more so you can ride it to Vegas without breaking down. I'm baffled.

I couldn't agree more. And have the discipline to leave the pistol original. Once it is cut or altered it loses it's value and becomes an ordinary range gun.

Other than the mainspring housing retaining pin being in backwards that is a very nice example of a relatively early Remington Rand 1911A1...
