So how much "tweeking" is this 1911 gonna take to function reliably? lol

Sad, but sometimes true. The Shooting Times article mentioned a few jams, etc. Some guns need a break in period, but some 1911's need more than that. Hopefully this will not be the case here.

John Browning was a firearms god at design. Since I was young there has always been and still is mega pages in every gun magazine covered with pics of a newer, bigger, smaller, heavier, lighter etc. 1911. I'm getting older now and there seems to be no end to this nonsense. With the proliferation of 1911 makers over the years why is it a shooter has to pay at least $1000 and more to get a duty worthy 1911 out of the box? I'd figured they would have these ALL perfected by now considering I've watched this going on now since 1980 when I could buy guns.

It's like buying a H-D bike then having to dump $5000 more so you can ride it to Vegas without breaking down. I'm baffled.
