Remington Managed Recoil Ammo??

I believe they manage the recoil by reducing the powder load, you would be better off with a muzzle brake then the reduction in velocity

I only have experience with 300RUM managed recoil that came with a rifle I bought = 150gr 30-06 recoil and close to the same point of aim.

I really fail to see the purpose of this type of ammo, With all the cartridges available, I just don't get it. Why buy a .30 mag if you only want/need a .308etc... Now if you reload that's a whole other story, but paying factory premium price for less bang...

Because people are dip####s and end up buying more gun then what they need. They would rather pay for a premium then admit that they ####ed up.

Look at Federal Fusion Lite too.
Rem goes to a lighter bullet, Federal drops velocity with a 'standard' bullet weight.

In .308 Fusion Lite they push a 170gr at a little over 200ofps IIRC. I bought for my girlfriend, she was intimidated by the .308. Its crazy accurate ammo FWIW.

Kayaker1: Thanks for the info, I will look into that Federal Lite.

To others: I'm only looking for information on Managed Recoil Ammunition, please no other expert advise, thank you.

I picked up a couple boxes of the remington managed recoil 7mm-08 for my wife, before last season.she took a good size doe at 125 yards the bullet went straight (double lung)through, the doe travelled maybe 30 yards after the shot and piled up.I was quite impressed with the performance.

I don't know, maybe they want to initiate their wife or kid at hunting and don't want them to be scared and turned off the first time they shoot. Just a wild guess.

They are obviously intended for people who buy factory ammo otherwise they wouldn't even exist.

Yep, and I'm suggesting handloading's what a guy needs when he starts looking at tweaking a cartridge to do things it was not intended to. I have a reduced .375 H&H load I whitetail hunt with, can't say I can see the use for a reduced 7-08, but the principle's sound.
