Remington Matchmaster 513T

My matchmaster is limited in accuracy only by the nut behind the wheel. Really to be more specific, my aging eyesight. I only have the one globe sight and one aperture, my target must be pretty large and dark for me to pick it up, but i shoot one ragged hole. Or rather the gun does.

I started a thread long ago , and it appears these were used by employees children of paper mills in Ontario. Mine fits that source. Fortunately i have modern bases and rings and am looking for a nice rather high variable to improve my shooting. I dont think i would go with the old school target scopes, it would embarrass the rifle when i cant live up to the expectation of onlookers.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I want a scope basically so I can see and hit targets at 100 yards. I don't intend on doing any drilling or machining to the rifle. I got in contact with KEN VIANI and he sells the mount that utilizes the pre existing holes on the rifle and accepts modern scopes. Its about $120 CAN which I think isn't too bad and it wont damage the gun. Includes mounting hardware and allen keys. Uses Weaver style rings (not included).

Ken Vianni won't ship to Canada

Yes, scope it using the barrel holes.
That is a very nice vintage target rifle; don't have it drilled.
It would be pretty straightforward to mount a conventional scope. Get a pair of the target blocks. Drill and tap the blocks for a rail that extends back over the receiver. No harm, no foul.
Or keep your eyes open for a vintage scope. They are out there.

A great rifle! I missed out on buying one of these when the CMP sold the last of them for $150 US. I got a couple of Mossberg 44US from them though. Look up getting the rear sight for it. Extremely accurate in it's iron sight mode. I think the original rear sight was either a Redfield or Olympic peep.
