Hello Everyone,

I own a venerable Remington Model 10 shotgun. When out at the range, I attempted to load it with shells, only to find it would chamber 2 shells. I then took it down at home, opened the magazine and found a huge dowel of wood jammed in the magazine (it's painted red as well for some reason). Ok. Not a problem. Then I took out the spring and discovered, much to my sadness, the spring was cut down as well.

I would like to bring the shotgun back to it's full mag capacity as I never intend to hunt with it. Can I find a new spring/plunger? Can I use one off of another shotgun? Can I attach more spring to the spring itself (last option, I'd rather replace the entire spring set)

Does anyone have one or have suggestions?

Thank you,
Drachenblut

The M-10's magazine spring is .75"X22.5" so it would seem to me that a 5 shot magazine spring from an 870 or a 500 could be substituted. The 4 shot 870 spring is only 16.25" in length. You could also purchase a spring for an 8 shot magazine and cut it down, I'd try it at 24" first.

From what I understand, it states here on Numrich that the spring is good for the the REMINGTON
870, 10, 29, 10A

Can I get this magazine spring in Canada? Heck of a hassle to buy it from the USA for a 10 dollar part.

Yours,
D
