I have a Remington model 12 that feeds and ejects great till you fire the cartridge then it wont open and the brass is swelled at the back by the primmer. I've tried two different barrels and its doing the same thing with both. I would appreciate any help to my problem Thanks John.

Do you have a picture of the primer strike on a fired case? I had a 62 do that to me before and it was the firing pin had a sharp edge and after fired it would dig in and not let the bolt shift to open and extract, while the 12 is different the bolt still drops down to unlock and open. On my fired cases you could see that the firing pin wasn't making a clean strike right to the edge it was leaving a lip on the outer edge.

No I don't have an empty case but I will look in to that. the reason it doesn't extract is because of the swelled brass. Ones I get the action open I have to pry the case out.

Ah I was thinking it wouldn't release for you to attempt to open, it is marked for LR if you are shooting LR correct? Not marked for L and you are shooting LR? If you have shorts try some shorts in it, maybe it is LR and someone shot shorts in it all the time and now the chamber is fouled with lead and tight for the LR?

Check your chamber. I've had 12s pass through. One had a ring in the chamber from a vast number of shorts that had passed through it. Made for sticky extraction. I had another with the same symptoms only it had been D&T for a scope with one of those holes allowing daylight into the chamber.

Quick check is to try a few shorts, and longs through it.

Worth exploring. These are nice little gems.
