I have a Remington Model 14 in .30 Remington (Pump action). It jams in the open position (where it is now) and I can't seem to figure out how too free it up and fix it.
Assuming its wear related and something has dropped in behind where it shouldn't be. I've had it apart before, it's a kind of tilting / sliding block.
Anyone with experience in these old girls?
TIA

Honestly, I can't say for sure - I think its in the off position (pushed all the way to the left). It's locked up solid now, nothing moves. I don't normally use a safety - I just picked it out of the rack, pulled the slide back to confirm clear and it was "locked all the way back".

Per the manual...

Action sticks open when safety is set off.

~ Cause --- Sear pin has loosened and caught behind shoulder in guard.
~ Remedy - Remove stock and drive sear pin into place and rivet both ends to prevent loosening.

Be sure to check for the usual suspects, fouling and/or damaged parts. Typically the Cause/Remedy solutions are based on a normally functioning firearm with a specific failure. The remedy I posted is just a possible rather than definitive solution. Older firearms tend to have been repaired sometime in the past and you may need to determine why and what was repaired or altered before. Also consider one or numerous parts are worn and out of spec.

So, back working now. Sear pin was solidly in place. Managed to get it apart by taking the stock off and gently tapping on the breech block rear with an aluminum "punch".
Seemed that a sharp corner on the front of the breech block was catching on the front edge of the recess in the receiver where the block drops for assembly. I filed a small radius on the breech block to create a tiny ramp rather than a sharp corner. Seems to have worked, racked it dozens of times, dry fired a few times, no jams. Probably just worn parts / excessive clearances and a sharp corner catching.
Thanks for your help.
