Looking to find a part on this gun. Could anyone tell me where to find it ?
This is a semi-auto 22 cal and on the receiver is a plastic piece that you pull to slide back the action. This piece has broken on both of my guns.

If you're really stuck, a small wooden dowel will do the job. :)

Also, I've often wondered if the cocking-handle on the new Remington air-rifles would do the job...;)

oh no you don't- just pull the retracting knob, and take off the body cover- the berrel is secured by the bolt on the underside of the forearm- that's ALL YOU SHOULD DO- anything else is cleaned by compressed air or just left as is- I CAN SEND YOU SCANS OF THE MANUAL IF NEED BE- there are dozens of guys on this board that have done detail strips on the nylon 66 and not been able to re-assemble it properly

That's just it... I think the previous owner was one of 'those' people... so either something is busted , something needs replacing, something needs to be put back together like it's supposed to be. Grr!

yes if you can please send them my way.

Sometime in the next few weeks I plan to take her apart... so by zombipocalypse 2012 I should have her back together :p

Thanks

Luke

I would love to get my hands on one for real cheap that someone couldn't get back together ;);) :)

you'd have to find somebody with 6 of everything to find one of those now- most of us have the exploded diagrams and the manual is on line as well as some with pictures- it's no longer a "secret" only gunsmiths know

That's true. My first 22 was a nylon 66 and although I don't own one right now, I'll always have a soft spot for them.

i,ve always wanted a nylon 22 as a boy my step dad sold and traded guns for a hobby every time he got i told him to keep it but he always sold them i looked for a long time for one i had the cbc modle but it was,nt a remington then here last year i was taking about guns with my brother in law then he said i,ll show you my guns i did,nt think he even own guns just his moose hunting rifle well to my suerprize there was 9 nylon remington 22s i almost fell over then when he told me he had boxes for them i told him i loved them 22s just like nothing he said here take this home with you 66 mohawk brown then he said i,ll sell two more to you if you want to buy them i got a nylon 77 and anylon 66 apache black i paid 450 dollors for the to guns and a free one.

I have two of the clip fed models, bought them for my kids. They're very light and easy to handle, good for kids. I've stripped mine right down (though not recently, because they haven't been fired in about 10 years) and put them back together, it really isn't that tough. - dan

Clip fed models? Is there some different designation for these rifles? I read an article probably 25 years ago about some guy shooting these rifles...sort of a torture test as I recall, and I have wanted one ever since.

that would be the model 77- it says so in the "brochure/owners manual"
you get the right owners manual, and it gives all the models, the colors, etc- apperently there's a sling swivl mounted one as well, but i've never seen it
