Remington Model 7 SS

I’m not a fan of pressure points. I have a m7 7-08 and the 700ss mountain 7-08 and both shoot sub moa with 120ttsx. At the range I let both cool between rounds due to the lighter whippy bbl’s. When hunting not typically worried about sub-moa for a follow-up. If you haven't tried the barnes it might be worth a go.

Keen to hear more about "the thing is tiny".
In what way ??
We are looking at one for my Partner ! Nice rifles
Hey, when I said tiny, you would think it's a toy , kind of tiny . It makes my Winchester M70 Featherweight look and feel like a club of old oak.
Bare, no scope, rings or bases, no sling and no ammo aboard, it weighs 5 lbs, an really is about half the size of the Featherweight.

So you could say a little Kinberesque 🤭😛😋😋

Ya, pretty much !! If you get one with the J-Lock, replace it with the GRE-TAN firing pin/shroud as soon as you can
I just got mine and installed it in 5 min. Super easy.
That's cool, an interesting.
We really need to get a hold Of one..
Otherwise I'm trying to push a Tikka T3 onto her.... Though the little Rems are lovely.

Will keep trying to get a feel! Thanks for your info

The Remington ISS/J-Lock is capable of being activated while 'Cocked" w/a knife or screw driver.

To disengage/un-lock it, the detent ball needs to be depressed to rotate the lock.

To de-activate the system-
Insert the firing pin assy into a mainspring compression tool & compress the spring to expose the firing pin striker/cocking piece 3/32" cross pin.
Punch out the 3/32" cross pin.
Rotate the firing pin shank 180 degrees so the lock slot is at 6 o'clock.
Insert the 3/32" cross pin thru the cocking piece/firing pin shank.
Decompress the mainspring.

You now have a deactivated ISS/J lock firing pin assy as a spare firing pin assy.

The ONLY part that will interchange w/a non ISS/J-Lock firing pin assy is the 3/32" cross pin in the striker/cocking piece.
All other parts firing pin, spring, striker, shroud are proprietary to the ISS/J-Lock assy.
