Who owns a model 7? Is your model 7 deadly accurate? I have one in 260 rem. that is flat out the best shooting rifle I have ever owned.....it prints tiny groups. I love this thing! I going to use this coming week for the opener of deer season....they don't have a chance :).

Glad U got such an accurate specimen. Hang on to that one.

I hunted deer with my stainless M7/tupperware stock in 260 using 140 interlock handloads - loved it for that purpose - very reliable. With those bullets at around 2600MV (if memory serves) the deer didn't run very far in my experience before piling up. Shot a buck quartering away at a trot - shooting just back of the ribs up into the chest. Didn't get a pass thru but it ran 15yds or so after the shot before it was down. Sweet little gun.

But I am in the process of selling it to a fellow CGNer now. That's because from now on I'm going to focus entirely on using my 35Rem or 358Win for deer - just cause. That 260 was quite a distraction away from my 35s during deer season.

I never did much range work with my M7 but found it accurate enough - no issues. Don't remember cloverleafs but didn't work on loads for that. Used 85gr Sierras at the range and they shot well enough too. I loaded them for coyotes but never got a chance to pull a trigger on a yote.

I've got a model seven SS in .308. I picked it out 12 years ago for my 16th birthday. I wish now I'd made a more informed choice. I really wish I had a wood stock for it now, and I also wish i'd started off with a heavier gun in .308. I developed a nasty flinch shooting that little cannon. While many consider the .308 mild at best, put it in a superlight sub 7lb package without a recoil pad in the hands of a young shooter, and beleive me, it'll put the fear of God in you everytime you're about to pull the trigger.

Mine is Synthetic/Stainless, with 3200 Elite 3-9x40 Firefly. I prefer wood myself but I like it just the way it is. Glad to hear others enjoy theirs too. I'm shooting factory federal premium loads....I don't reload . I might start someday soon.
