Hello the forum.

I am a lefty considering the purchase of a Remington Model 700 P in either .223 or .308.
Is anyone aware of how readily available this model is in left handed model?

The folks at the local Wholesale Sports were not sure if it was.

Many thanks.

Buds sorry to rain on your parade but they don't make the PSS in a lefty, try a Savage 10LFP, I have one and its "bang on".

Custom79,
I believe the closest you are going to get to a left-handed 700P if your mind is set on a Remington is the 700 VSF left-handed. I am not positive, but I think Remington used to make the 700VS in a left-handed model.

Buds you can get a "lefty" REM action an build whatever you want, been there done that! The Savage is a "one stop shopping" for a great "lefty" gun, thats "tactical". Make up your own mind but if "cash" is a issue then the Savage is the way to go.

Many lefties use right hand actions with great success - are you already accustomed to lefty guns? If not, I'd suggest learning to shoot right - finding particular models and chamberings in lefty is a PITA

I was hoping to get a left-handed 700, but the more I thought about it I realized I'm pretty good at using right-handed guns, and when using a bipod I think a RH would actually be easier.

Decision Made - Many Thanks

Thanks to those who weighed in with advice.

Although I am left-handed naturally, I also grew up playing most sports with both hands and as such I have no problem shouldering a rifle either way.

The 2007 Remington catalogue shows a redesigned model 700 sps varmint rifle with a heavy 26" barrel.

As this is my first precision rifle, I have decided to pick up one of these and learn bench rest shooting right-handed.

Many thanks.
