Remington model 700 Sendero Build

So over the winter I am going to build a remington model 700 Sendero for an Alberta elk hunt later in the year (I am from Nova Scotia) and also will be using it to dabble in long range shooting for fun, nothing to serious. After that it will be my normal hunting rifle, deer, bear and coyoties, and anything else I make a trip to hunt. Chambered in .300 win mag what would everyone consider upgrading on the Sendero. I know it shoots great outta the box but I was thinking glass bed it upgrade trigger. Anything else i should do to this gun throw some opinions.

If it carries the same X Mark pro triggers are the rest of the Remington, that would definitely be one of my first upgrades.

I should add that I am also building one in 300 rum and that will be one of my first upgrades! Haha

Yeah trigger and glass bedding adding a timney Calvin elite to it

Actually shoot it first and see if it does or wil benefit any improvements.

Elk hunting involves walking steep terrain in ugly locations. The sendero is a great rifle but heavy. you may want to consider something a little lighter in 7mm Remington or .300 win. like the Tikka T3 with a compact scope. Just a thought

Mine got a Shilen trigger, bedding job and re-crown before it ever got shot. Its a .264 and its actually snarey how it shoots.

Those things are known to be good to great shooters out of the box. Shoot it before you fix something that is not broken. Trigger and bedding are obviously the first two and cheapest options.

Dogleg what degree did you recrown it at?

11 I think. My gunsmith just asks me if I want a hunting or target crown and I never give it much thought after that.
