A friend of mine just bought a used Model 700 SPS detachable magazine and I have a few questions....
First is the date of manufacture,...it has the letters "XG" stamped on the left side of the barrel and my research has lead me to believe that it was manufactured Dec of 2012,.."X" meaning December,.."G" meaning 2012,..is this right??
Second is the trigger recall,...I entered the serial # on the recall site and it said that this rifle may be affected and may need to be inspected/repaired,..(it has the smooth face trigger), but I remember reading somewhere that after the rifle/trigger has been inspected/repaired that they put a punch mark on the receiver to signify the gun has been repaired,..so I am wondering what the punch mark looks like and where on the receiver do they put it?
Third is the detachable magazine,...when he was sighting in the rifle the magazine would fall out every time he fired,....has this happened to anyone else and is there a simple fix for it?
Thanks
