Remington model 700 verses model 7 ?

I’m looking at a model 7 chambered in .223.
The barrel swap would be the same.
I guess resale would be harder, but that’s no big deal.
I know Timney makes a trigger and I think Boyds has a wood stock available.
I think I’d want an aluminum chassis though.

I tricked out a model 7 in 223. The Remington trigger is good. The barrel and stock was changed. Going to a model 700 will be easier if you need a chassis however.

The Model 7 is shorter then a M700 But has a 1/8 " longer loading port ! The mag box is the same lenght at 2.8 same as a M700 -The M7 is lighter in weight - Being shorter its more rigid - All M7's have a hindged floor plate with the hidden front action screw . I Prefer the M7 over the M700 for any of the Creedmoor lenght cartridges and 243 -358 win Family cartridges . Timney makes a Reg trigger for it as well as a Calvin Elite version and Trigger Tech makes one as well - Stocks are TUFFER to find - But Wild Cat makes a Great one and also Mcmillan - HS Prescision -Hi-Tec Composites and more.
Its JUST a Better action ! jmo I have a Custom built M7 ULite (4 3/4 lbs Bare ) in 6.5 CM - A M7 -7-08 and a M7-308 right now - Just traded off my M7 Predator 243 - RJ
