my question is how good is the Rem. model 700 BDL for hunting deer , bear , moose , i like the 22 inch barrel , cal. are 308 win., 30-06 , 270 win. what is your opinion. thanks Joe

New or Used?
If you are looking at new, IMO they are very overpriced and should be priced more in line with Savage, since I resent having to take my new rifle to a 'smith to properly bed the action and make BOTH the lugs bear. You can do quite a bit of pimping to them, so if you want to change this or that later, the sky is the limit.

Never heard of it....

What kind of rifle is it?

Normally I'm advocating Winchester Model 70's and Ruger M77's but I have a couple Remington 700's that are a joy to behold  So...I have to jump in and say get a BDL in .30-06 if moose are an annual hunt. If it's for caribou and smaller size game for the most part, get a .270Win. You just can't go wrong with either one however :D

I found the 700 sps stainless is a better value than the BDL in stainless.. Nicer stock, costs less. No matter what you decide, I suggest avoiding DM models and go only stainless. my 2 cents

My first 700 in .30-06 has been great. So has the .22-250, 243, 270, 280 and .338 Winchester. I would still opt for the .30-06 as the 180 grain will do virtually everything - RIGHT!
