I picked up a used 750 carbine in .308 several years ago off the EE to be used when I'm bush whacking (I'm the "dog" at our camp). I wanted something with a short barrel I could put on a single point sling in front of me to allow me to swing a machete, but still have a remote chance of getting a deer if I kicked something up. I put a Knoxx Recoil reducing stock on it to shorten it as much as possible. When slung, there's about 18 inches of clearance between the barrel and ground (but I'm 6'4").
I've probably put about 350ish rounds through it. Never jammed once. I use remington dry-lube on all my gun's actions maybe that's helped.
I love it though. What a great little gun. Especially with the pistol grip. Fugly? Yes. But to me it's a tool, and short of an RFB, I can't think of a better tool for the job. And accurate too... For years I just had a red dot on it, but this season I put a 2-9 on it and holy moly I didn't expect that accuracy out of a 18.5 barrel. My best group was just under .75 with Win Balistic Silvertips. (And I'm the furthest thing from a marksman you'll find).
Complaints? Not many... the operating handle could be bigger/longer for my big hands... the trigger could be a touch lighter... that's about it. Oh, it's loud. (Short barrel). But it has a recessed crown that deflects the muzzle blast away from the shooter a bit. Doesn't bother me to shoot it, but I often see grimaces on the faces of the guys in the bay next to me at the range. My Model 88 with full length barrel is louder behind the gun than the 750 is though.

(Told you it was fugly
