Remington Model 770 Bolt Action

For the money, their are way better value rifles.

Savage
Mossberg
Marlin

Have all recieved much better customer reviews.

The Rem 770 is based off of the horrendous 710, which few will argue is one of the worst rifles ever made. They were incredibly cheaply made, and had such serious defects as the bolt flying open upon firing. People bought them based on the name and cheap price, and rem suckered them in big time.

Also, dont be afriad to find a quality used rifle. I picked up an excellent Ruger M77 with scope for about the same price as the 770. Much better rifle for the same price.

I have one in 270 came with a bushnell scope. i didnt like it.( to use to my enfields) put 20 rnds through it. i'll sell ya mine and throw in 5 boxes of rounds. pm me if you like.

Thanks guys i think im gonna go for the savage 11f with accu trigger, i just have to figure the calibre, ant ideas on this one?
:D

What was that story ?

Seems a lad out west had a 770 hanging in the rear window rack of his pick-up.
When he stopped for a leak at a gas bar, someone had broken into his truck
... and left another 770 !

The flag tells me you're in Ontario. Get a .308 Winchester or 7mm-08 and you can take any game in the province as far as most of us should shoot. If the 11 is available in .338 Federal, consider that one too.
A .30-06 or .270 would be a good choice if you want the long-action rifle, which I think is the 110 or 111.

Well i went with the Savage 111FCXP3 Long Action · Caliber / Cal. - 30-06 removable mag and simmons scope, no accutrigger maybee on the next one

Thanks for all the help guys definetly made my choice easier :)

That should work well for you. Keep an eye out for deals on scopes, and maybe upgrade that one. You can pick up Elite 3200's for under $200 if you look around...

junk, save your pennies and buy a marlin xl7 while they are still cheap, and but a bushnell elite 3200 or burris FF2 or vortex diamond back on it and your set!
