I noticed this model on Epps website. I'm wondering if it is just a prettied up express. I used to have a 870 special purpose that was a somewhere between a Wingmaster and an Express in quality. Be nice if this was a similar gun.
Has anyone looked at them?

Have not had one apart but from the one I looked at I agree with you. It is not a wingmaster that is for sure. Still looks and feels like it would be a good hunting gun for the price.
 
I had one back in the mid 80's.
It was Way nicer than the first gen. express'.
If it three inch and has a vent rib with chokes and under 400.00 I would jump on it as it will be a cold day in hell you find a like Remington 870 Wingmaster in walnut to compare and buy for same money.
I was just on the web site and it is gone or did I miss something?
Ok crunch68, I look and see this is a "New" gun offered for sale at Elwood Epps.
