$17XX saw it today actually - damn nice rifles. I believe it's new/unfired but it's also old enough to be a 3-holer. They had a 708 next to it for awhile priced in the $2### range and it's now gone.

This one wasn't built to be light, it is to be my brothers all rounder. Never weighed it.
I will tell you from multiple lightweight builds in the past a standard caliber m7 dropped into a wildcat with nothing else done will weigh in at 5lbs 2oz +/- 1 oz

I had one in 300 WSM. Nice, but it went down the road too.....I forget what it funded though, no doubt a gun I had to have right now.
All three pics are of a CDL in 350RM that I have been working on.
Scoured the four corners of the globe for a 350KS but no dice...so I just decided to try and build something similar. Fitted a Brown Precision stock off the EE from an older FG model I believe. It's still an ongoing project awaiting paint but it shoot lights-out. So much power for under seven pounds scoped!
The Model Seven pictured below was in 7-08. It was a sweetheart and I always loved the schnabel fore-end.Wish I could keep them all,but,alas, it's a sickness.

6.5 remington mag, 22" Douglas barrel, mcmillan hunters edge, ptg firing pin assembly. Sighted it in for the first time this afternoon - she is a laser.
That one looks fantastic double gun! A real classy chambering as well,hope it puts the hurt on some game this season.

Picked up this model 7 .308win 18.5 " barrel,20 years ago $350 with 1.5 to 6x Baucsh & Lomb scope. put it in a Banser stock bedded it, changed scope to Leupold 1.5 to 6x with a 2.5" dot works great for short range Deer gun, weighs 6 lbs 10 oz all in.

I am digging that old FS stock. Is the grip as thin as it looks? (I hate fat grips on small rifles).

So I have to ask; why were you carrying around a rifle with no bases/rings/scope/sling in the same area that pile was left?
EDIT: Nevermind, just saw the rear sight. Doh, my bad!

It's definitely slimmer in the wrist than the KS. Unlike C-fbmi I've only shouldered a KS model in my dreams so I have no way to compare the two.
Owned a couple of Montanas with Kevlar stocks as well as a few Micky hunters Edge but this is the the first all 'glass stock I've ever had. There was a good deal of inletting work to be done in the barrel channel but it was very nice to work with,gave me the confidence to one day tackle the finishing work on a Wildcat stock.
The real surprise for me was how much better the Fiberglass stock soaked-up recoil energy than the wood stock. I'd heard somewhere before that an all 'glass stock will flex somewhat and reduce felt recoil and it seems to be the case.
Which bullet and powder did you use and what kind of speeds were you getting from that 6.5 double gun?

c-fmbi : man those MS models sure are pretty. I missed one from Goble's some months ago. It was in .250-3000 in excellent shape for $1295 - and I instantly emailed an "I'll take it" but was literally a few minutes too late. Even called them the next morning to make sure.

That would have been a good snag at $1300... and chambered for a really nice cartridge... I can picture slipping through the deer woods with that one tucked under my arm.
