I was wondering what the correct top hand guard should look like for a 1917 Remington Mosin... I came into this gun recently and while checking it out determined that it is all matching Remington parts and in very good condition. It does have the SA stamp on it as well as a few small symbols here and there in addition to the Remington markings.
The only thing is the top hand guard, it is different wood, appears to be shellaced slightly too long and made from aluminum, it's also cracked along it's entire length
... I'm assuming that this was replaced in Finland at some point.
So any idea what the correct top guard looks like [and where I can get one
