Remington Mountain Rifle Stainless Steel Synthetic Stock/ Fibreglass

I shouldered a Remington Mountain rifle yesterday along with a Winchester Extreme Weather I found both rifles nice to bring up to my shoulder .Both were a reasonable weight also . Neither in my preferred caliber though

I had a stainless mtn rifle with the B&C stock on it a couple years ago, in 270. It shot surprisingly well, at least with 130 grain ballistic tips and interlocks. Like Mark I was not crazy about the stock. It was thick at the wrist and about 30 ounces IIRC. The rifle was a little butt heavy for my liking, but it did shoot very well. The trigger on it was not bad as it came from the factory either!

I like the older B&C TI take-offs. Have two opened up to BDL. Wish I had more.

How do the new ones differ from the older ones?

No, slimmer profile. The 5r stock would be awful on the mountain SS imo.

Is the stock on the Remington Mountain the same Bell and Carlson that is on the new Remington 700 5R rifles ? If so those are very, very, thick ,felt really odd .Like holding a 2x4

I’m not sure if I have this right or not . Do the newer Remington Mountain Riles have a slimmer B and C stock or is it the same as the older ou rain rifles with thick wrist ?
Thanks

They aren't as thick as the old Sendero, 5r ect. But they are a little chubby in the wrist. It's not excessive though.
