I acquired a Nylon 66 a couple of years ago, I am trying to compile a proper list of make, model, etc of all of the guns in my possession. I cannot locate the Ser. No. for the Nylon 66 on the rifle itself.

When I took the cover off the receiver there was an inked stamped number on the plastic, but that was the only number I could find without completely dissemble the rifle.

Would that be the Number?

any help would be appreciated.

some of the very early nylons did not have serial numbers....
most were stamped either on the barrel, just in front of the receiver, or on the left side of the receiver. what color is yours?...
there were many versions of the Nylon....

mine's is on the dust cover, left hand side, bottom- right on the cover- the number you're seeing is an assembly numberand that dates back to about 1970 or so- possibly 69- in some books that's also called the receiver-if it isn't there, it's quite possible someone has replaced the sheet metal dust cover

Thanks guys, It is brown with a Black butt cover, and a black stock tip.

I don't think that the dust cover has been replaced as my father purchased the rifle new when he was younger. (I remember learning to shoot with it as a kid. I am sure that he bought it before the kids were born.) I guess that I am going to have to remove the barrel and look for it on there.

Thanks again for the help guys.
