Remington or Mossberg?

870 for me, purely based on ergonomics. As far as quality goes, I am pretty sure they are about the same.

Nothing wrong with either. I ended up with an 870 and prefer the safety but the mossberg was pletty slick too.

^^ This is my opinion also. Go with the higher end models of either. I do prefer 870 though but the 590A1 is a good gun I've heard.

I voted mossberg. I had an 870 (base model at the time) I didnt care for it. The action was rough, and I found the saftey on the rear of the trigger guard awkward. I just couldnt get used to it. I ended up selling it and got a Mossberg 590A1 I really like it, seems to be a better fit for me.

590A1 or 870P, but of the cheaper models I would probably go with the mossberg since it's a bit cheaper. I'd take the thunder ranch over the tactical express.

Not true. I had ano 870p that would not feed the hornady zombie ammo. But cycled federal fine. My mossy eats everything.

I voted Mossy as my wife has one and she likes it and I prefer it over my brothers 870, but he prefers his 870. I went with the Benelli as suggested above, I don't need the ability to put any tactical trinkets on it, I just wanted something well built with a beautiful fit and finish.
