Remington or weatherby????

I strongly suggest you try both rifles for fit and go with what fits. A poor-fitting rifle might do sub-moa in the hands of somebody who likes the feel of it, but won't shoot worth a hoot if it does not fit you.

I have owned hundreds of rifles and the biggest determinant for accuracy is how well I can shoot that particular rifle. Don't get me wrong, I can't take a lever gun that fits me like a glove and shoot a three inch group at three hundred yards, the gun is not designed for that. But a rifle that feels good in my hands, and with good handloads, is going to shoot well almost always.

On a personal note, I owned two Weatherby Vanguards in .257 Wby, one of them formerly owned by mylesrom who has posted, and both of them can do well under moa. They also fit me.

BUT your question about warranty service is a good one. I have been dealing for MANY months on a warranty issue with Weatherby USA. Their customer service SUCKS, the guy named "Rodney" who generally answers the phone is an impolite moron, and I am basically no further ahead after a bunch of $$$ and time in getting my issue resolved. Having said that, I have never had the pleasure of dealing with Remington, so I have no idea whether their warranty service would be better or worse than Weatherby.

So (just in case you missed my point) go with what fits you. ;)

And good luck!

Doug

Myself havinga few rem. 700 all were accurate the only tinkering I would do is free float the barrels which costs nothing to do yourself if needed my 700 bdl deluxe in 300 win mag with remington core lokt 150 grains shoots 1-1.5 groups or better all day can only imagine the accuracy with premium grade ammo

Don't assume that the accuracy will improve with more expensive ammunition. In some guns, the cheaper loads will actually shoot more accurately. The increased cost is because some bullets cost more to produce because of their construction, but neither the bullets or the loads are necessarily made to higher tolerances.
