HOWDY; Was down to AL simmons in Hamilton and saw a black rifle stocked pump with a 16 inch barrel and AR 15 MAG in the bottom . Are thes remington rifles good to shoot ? Can you have a 10 round cap. mag due to the fact it is a pump action.?

Unfortunately it is the magazine itself, not the rifle, that has the capacity. While magazines designed for a pump action rifle are not limited, the Remington 7615 pump takes AR15 magazines, which are limited to 5 rounds regardless of which gun they are inserted into.
Unless of course Remington steps up and makes some of their own mags. No limit on those, and everyone can then run around with 30rd full cap mags in their AR15's! YAY!
I don't think it'll happen. I was about to buy one today actually, but found out it came with Bushmaster AR15 mags nutered to 5 rounds. C'mon remington, step up and make some damn hicaps for your pump rifle! SHEESH!

Unfortunatly that's not legal :(
The mag has to be "originally designed for" a pump rifle. Taking an AR15 mag and modifying it to not work in an AR15 doesn't make it a 7615 mag :(
Sooooo sad. This comes stright from the RCMP Firearms tech.

my buddy just got one, it's cool but you have to use the bushmaster ar15 mags, or the bolt hits the corners of the other types of mags, if you know what i mean

Remington will not, since they don't give a flying F*** about Canada anyway.

Powerwagon....the HK built AR mags might work better!

doesn't matter. the bolt is wider by just a bit. rubs the mags at the top where they hold in the bullets. unless the openning is 1/16 inch wider on the HK mags, it'll do the same

Something like this?

I got the idea from a fellow CGN'er. His is a 7615P .223 Mine is a 7600P .308
The top and bottom pics are after the stock mod and the middle one is after the fore end mod. Since those pics I will be adding an XS Systems back up rear sight and an HK type hooded front sight. Also tried a long eye relief scope but it was a bad configuration. The shortened Ace folding butt stock prevented a solid sight picture when unfolded. I have 2 mini risers coming and will use the scope in the pictures and I'll be able to use the irons when folded.
Specs:
Remington 7600 Police 308 Cal. 16.5"
OAL unfolded: 38 1/4" Folded: 29" (3" over min)
Forend: Tapco AR15/M16 rail and vetical foregrip
Scope: NCStar 3x12x50 Range finder illuminated
Stock/Pistol grip: Mesa Tactical Remi 870 High mount w/rail, A2 pistol grip. Ace FSM and AK Seleton stock w/cheek rest
Mags: Remi and Eagle, and Outdoor Canada, and Guns and Ammo, Outdoor Life and Field & Stream;)
To come
Backup sights: XS Sight Systems
1/2 mini risers to remount the NCStar scope

I love this rifle. Before and after the mods it has preformed flawlessly. The only thing was with the eagle mags. It took some shaving of the plastic body
to get them to insert easily into the mag well. After that no problems.

I was pretty excited about the 7600P until I handled one. I just couldn't get over the sloppy loose feel of the fore end. I expected some play like most pump action shotguns but it was way worse and didn't feel like a $900.00 rifle should. If it were closer in price to a regular 7600 I might re consider what modifications could be done to reduce the play up front.

Yep, it does have a loose feel in the fore end. I noticed that when I took it out of the box. However, the 3 pump shotguns I have are also a little loose as well. The rail I added is stable enough to mount a grip or FL but not a laser.

It is not the fore end itself that causes the problem. It is the whole slide mechanism/cocking/loading/ejecting platform. The forearm doesn't move when tightened on. Everything moves.

I think if I wanted to mount anything other than a fore end grip I'd put a YHM barrel mount on it for flip up fronts, and a laser.

I love this rifle. Shoots fantastic and easy to pack.

I didn't notice any difference cocked or uncocked. By loose I mean side to side not foreward or backward. It seems like the foreend is cantilevered out past the tube that it slides on. It's not like a shotgun where the tube goes all the way through the foreend and is secured to the barrel with a cap. I wraped some electrical tape around the barrel and that got rid of the sloppy feel and I doubt the slight contact on the barrel would affect accuracy but like I said it's a little to pricy for what you get. I liked the handling of the 16 1/2" barrrel and the fact it's chambered for .308

Yeah same here. I just took mine out and cycled the action into the cocked position. The forearm does move side to side. Not much but just enough to make putting a laser site on my rail a wasted effort. I agree that it is a little pricey but after using it I would gladly pay the same price again.

Good, bad, who cares? I will never buy another Remington product - I don't care about them as much as they don't care about me. F*#@K 'em
