Remington prices going up!?

Stopped in a gun shop in Montreal today and I wa told that Remington will be putting their prices up around 15% in the new year.
Anyone else heard this?

I've also heard Baikal will be going up 15% with shipments on new inventory.

Browning is supposed to go down 3%.

Wonder if it's a result of the hot Canadian dollar, metal prices, labor costs... or just smart business now that a major competitor (USRAC Winchester) is no longer nipping at their heels?

It can only hurt them...

But maybe it's a response to sales volume being down....

I heard that 870's prices were going down in Canada to compete against the Nornico HP9 870 serries.

Well prices going up does make sense as stuff is more expensive this year then it was that year. Also maybe more people will have jobs. It sucks but this is not a bad idea imo

I think they need to lower their price,and not by just a little.

Actual prices, or MSRP's? Because WSS and most other places in canada sells Remingtons for less than the MSRP. A loit less when you realize that WSS sells in $CAN and the MSRD is in $USD
