So I went to buy primers today and the only thing available in magnum rifle primers was the Remington primers... $5/100... are they any good? Are they has good as federal 215 or CCI equivalent?

Hougan's probably will not be getting more magnum primers for awhile.I don't know but just guessing.I would get them while you can.I use them in my 375 ruger and 350 rem mag in the cold no problem.

Have only used small pistol and small rifle so far but no issues with seating or firing. Havent noticed any real changes in my reloads when I use those vs. Federal or CCI. I like them.

Thank you all, I got 4 boxes of 100.... maybe I should have gotten more... I
Might go back today!

If you're a hunter and that's all you shoot, you'll be ok. For target shooting, well that's not very much at all. I would get lots more while the getting is good, just saying...

$50 per thousand? Grab them. Prices for primers are going up 10-15% very soon. Cabela's has already raised prices on new primer stock.

Yes they are good. They are not as "hot" as the Fed 215 but unless you are reloading very large cartridges with 80 - 100 grains of powder there should be no problem. In terms of brisance the Rem 9 1/2 M are the mildest magnum primer on the market.

I've used quite a few of the Rem 9-1/2Ms, in 30-06 size cases when I loaded with spherical or very slow burning powder such as W760, H4831 or H1000. Worked well every time in bolt action rifle loads. I don't use them in really big cartridges like the .450-400, that's Federal Magnum primer territory. I have had some failures to fire when using Rem 9-1/2M's in a couple of double rifles. Seems they aren't as sensitive to lighter firing pin strikes. Never the first hiccup in a bolt action.
