Do 870 forends fit the 1100 semi auto?

Or if they dont/ Is anyone aware of a way to mod an 870 forend to make it fit 1100???

They aren't even close. This is a no go.

I would like the 1100 HG idea on the 870, it would take out that gap from the receiver and the HG. With a short 12" barrel the overall would look like a a shorty 1100.... but alas they dont work.
