Fuzzy picture, but it's got a slight fluting on the barrel. Looks good!

Free floated barrel, done in a Max-1 HD camo.

What else can I say? It's an AR15 for $1075!

That's a really good price. Great way to get the bubbas and hunters into restricted semi group.
I can't see any hunters buying a restricted gun just because it's camo and a decent price.
They can never use it outside the range and most don't belong to one as they don't already shoot restricted.

Out of the dozen or so hunters i know, only one shoots restricted and is a member of a range.

For most of them it's not about shooting the guns either. It's all about the hunt.
And i agree with the above that offering this in only camo in canada is a mistake as the tactical guys (for the most part) prefer black and you can't hunt with it so why would you want camo anyway?

Perhaps some carefully applied matte black Krylon would do the job without digging into the original finish  I could certainly live with the paint for that price!

$1,075 is a great price... but for $1,199.00 we offer Rock River Arms' CAR A4 with standard CAR handguard, A2 Front Sight post, forged A4 Flat Top Upper, A2 Buttstock, 2-Stage Match Trigger, case, manual, 10 round magazine...

A bit more but all black and lots of features :)

This thread is getting even more interesting... Both are sweet deals

Different market. As P of PDent said, this rifle was meant for the hunting crowd. Fudd doesn't like matte black :)

Yes but in Canada..... You can't hunt with any AR rifle. While the Masada/ACR may very well end up being non-restricted in Canada. In which case you can hunt with it. It seems to me having a Camo coloured one for Fudd, in Canada would make more sense. There's no point bothering to import the R-15 into Canada.

Speak for yourself.....for $1075 for a tack driving AR-15 which is really a Bushmaster. I think it will sell very well!!

If you want a Heavy barrel AR from a name brand manufacturer up here you are looking at $1500 to $1800 range. The R-15 is a wicked deal and I'm sure a well built rifle from a name brand manufacturer.

Wow !

I'm real glad I started this thread. Every sponsoring company should offer their special for those starting off on this thread. I would have been real happy with that Rock River Arms. I'm sure I'll catch the AR-15 fever. Just like the 1911... oh man, my wife is going to kill me...:p

I agree. But the black rifles now have a new selling feature: Not Camo!

To the original question, it's a camo Bushmaster AR-15, any standard AR-15 parts should fit, aftermarket accessories in real-tree might be tough to find though ;)

I think Remington should start the 'De-restrict for hunting' push with the Feds. Isn't there a statement somewhere that hunting rifles would never be 'banned'? Remington is clearly marketing this as a hunting rifle. What does the Outdoors Council think of this?

Cheers,
DT

I'd love to handle all of these rifles during a range day! As I understand it, a person could get the A4 with the A2 fore grip and butt stock? Pitting the A2's RRA match trigger against the R-15's 22" free-floated barrel on the range would prove very informative...

So I guess the guys in my local store who had a few on order and pre-sold, were "missinformed" when they said they'd be getting none since they weren't being allowed into Canada.
