Hello everyone. I have a centennial edition Remington R1 1911. Ever since I bought it, it shoots about 5" low and 3-4" left. At first I just thought it was my mashing the trigger or some such thing while I got used to it, but everyone who has shot it (experienced shooters) have all had the same issue. I have seen online that there is a problem with the dovetail not fitting tightly and the front post moving when you tighten the set screw. Most posts advise the purchase of a new front sight. My centennial edition is actual gold, I would not want to replace it unless absolutely necessary. Is there any way to adjust this so it sits properly? Should I send it back to Gravel? (they put a nice idiot scratch in my pristine bluing last time I sent it in) Or should I take it to a more experienced gunsmith? Any tricks or tips would be appreciated.
