Shot one of the first R1s in the area, very accurate, more then decent trigger, tight fit. Hard to complain about for the price charged. You won't go wrong quality wise, but i wouldn't recommend a 45 for your first handgun.
Mine is fine other than the fiber in the front sight has jumped ship and got lost.
A .45 isn't what I'd suggest for a first handgun though. The recoil is quite a bit more than a 9mm and more likely to get you shooting with a pretty good flinch. Also it's a LOT more costly to buy ammo. Run the numbers for yourself before you leap.
I know that 9mm is cheaper and has less of a kick, but I like the .45 acp better because its bigger and it's a great pistol cartridge.
