May be a silly question, but I'll try.

I just "discovered" the Remington R1 Stainless. I have checked all the sponsers I above. Who has one of these in stock? I have a major craving for an all stainless 1911 and REALLY like this one. I was waiting for a Ruger, but the classic looks of the Remmy really appeal to me.

Please help! I want to spend some money!

I've got the blued R1 and the only way I could like it better is if it was SS. I play it against my tricked out blued Series '70 Gold Cup with all the bells, gongs & whistles you can put on a 5" gun and yet I love the basics of the R1 - sights, dimpled and lowered ejection port, slightly bevelled mag well, long tang. It's what Jeff Cooper would have described as a good duty gun with no unneeded frills.
It feeds anything and it's preferred bullet is the 230 RN jacketed, grouping them beyond expectation.
The trigger is wearing in well but I will never get used to the Series '80 type linkage. Really makes me focus on the front sight as I squeeeeze .... Remington could have left that out and gone pure GI, as far as I'm concerned.

Congrats on your R1! I purchased mine from Reliable in Vancouver in November, as it was the last one they had left. It was $699.99 before taxes. Don't forget to get your $50 rebate from the Remington website!

Here's some pics of my R1. I finally got around to shooting it today!

You are going to love the gun, I got one about 4 months ago, got about 300 rounds down the pipe so far. I love everything about this gun, the look, the feel, how it shoots, everything.

The only problem I have with this gun is it opened my eyes to the world of 1911's, so now I'm on the hunt for a well priced Ruger SR1911 to start an actual 1911 collection LOL.

So, just wanted to update you guys.
I mentioned Epps disinterested/semi-rude service that I have received for the 3rd time when I went in there. Dealt with 2 different guys, both looked acted and spoke to me like they just wanted me to leave. Wes was always great to deal with, but wasn't in. One guy came over while I was waiting for one of the "bothered" ones to get me a can of powder. He was shorter, stocky and starting to bald and joking, smiling and happy to interact. And had I dealt with him first, I would have certainly ordered my pistol there. But after dealing with the first 2 guys, I felt that if I had a problem with my purchase, no one would help me.

I called to other sight sponsors. I called P&D and got Jodie on the line.
She explained they didn't have an R1S in stock, but she would call her supplier and see about availability. Sure enough within 30 min she called back, said her supplier had 4, and she ordered them and they would be in the following week. I told her one was sold, just wanted a quote for shipping. She emailed back within 20 min, with a price and order form. I filled everything else in and sent it to her . Yesterday I received this:

"Hi Jason, The Remington arrived today, the paper work has been completed so now we are just waiting on the approval from the Ontario CFO before we ship it out.
I’ve attached a picture if you’d like to see it.
Regards, Jodie"

She took a picture of my new pistol and sent it to me!
I impressed by the wonderful service, warm and friendly interaction, and the overall ease of order.
I have bought off of most Ontario stores, most CGN sponsers but this was the first for P&D. They will be my first choice next time.

P.S.
expect full report after I receive the R1
