Remington R1

Anyone know if the Remington R1 1911 is available in Canada? If it is where, and for how much?

Milarm is supposed to be bringing in some, and they are taking deposits. I have a deposit on one and was told they should arrive by the end of August, but as of last week they're still in New York:( I was quoted a price between $575-$650 depending on landed cost.

Hopefully, we'll see the R1 offered by more than one Canadian dealer.

NAA.

Taking deposits with no ETA and no fixed price?

I checked one of my American distributors. They've got it listed, but no availability and no price at this time. Of course, I don't doubt there are dealers who have more info on this gun than I do.

Wolverine is bringing in some too but no ETA or price.

Ummm. Just checked the Wolverine Site and it says $675.00 plus tax.

Plus taking deposits on guns with no ETA or price seems kind of, well not right.

I have on order right now from my local dealer, and the price I was told is $650.00.

My local 'pusher' informs me his distributor has it in his cataloge...... He has 3 ordered or the display case.

If they come in close to the price he told me they would be (about a C-note more than a Gunnar tuned Nork)...... I'm going to have to buy one!

Cheers!

The ETA I had, which was supposed to be the end of August, however, the price was variable. But I figured $575 to $650 for a US built Remington, as opposed to a $400 1911 built in the workers paradise was worth it.:stirthepot2:

why would anyone have to "bring them in from the US" When the remington wholesaler in canada will be stocking them by the pallet load.
When i talked with them 2 weeks ago the R1 is still being fine tuned, mag issue and they dont want to go with aftermarket.
They want to be sure they the gun works 100% out of the box.

Just got mine and they are nice. Worth the money that is for certain. I'll try and post some pics tonight in the 1911 picture gallery.

Been reading some user reviews over at 1911forum; While the frame is cast, and so are a lot of parts, including mim sear and hammer (Well, what do you expect at that price point?!). It does compare quite favorably against other basic milspec 1911 like para, springfield, etc.
