I would argue you USED to gwet your money's worth. I love older Remmy 700's (pre-Jlock).
Now you get a ####ty trigger that doesn't adjust as well, poorly finished metal with more machine marks, J locks on some guns, lower grade walnut than used to be used with crappy eurethane finish. I also hate whiteline and skip-line, so a new stock is a MUST for me.
Finally, as a left handed shooter I find the calibers offered for lefties to be a totally inadequate selection.
That being said, I like Remingtons and have had several older ones - a great buy on the used market, but I wouldn't spend good cash on a new one. :idea:
