Remington rolling block 44RF Value??

A frriend has his late Grandfathers rifle and wants an approximate value. It is a remington rolling block with "44" on bottom of barrel(octagon)and is a rimfire .It is in pretty good shape with a patina but no rust,bore is good but needs cleaning . If I were to take this to a gun show what would be an asking price(low ball) it has ammo and is quite shootable, Thanks my GURUS! JITC
 
We will need more info on what model # or stock style, are both tangs integral with the receiver? Remington did chamber all the .44 RF. except the Henry flat as far as I know and all were obsolete by 1920. Orig. #1 in good condition is worth $1200 (non-military)(approx. guess), the #1 1/2 probably more, all others less, note that any special features drive the price way up, target guns, Gove conversions, etc can drive the price to $3600+ Please note: I am not an expert on the RB just a fan, who shoots them alot. i bought a #1 1/2 without any wood, in fairly rough shape for $250 a few years ago.I also believe that in this gun, a rimfire chambering reduces it's value,IMHO.
 
It's like saying I have an old Mustang to sell. What is it worth? The value could be $50 to $25,000+. You need a detailed description and some pictures if you want members to give you a fair estimate.
 
I've been a member long enough to realize that pics are very NB. But I just got this in my hands today with no knowledge of its History. The serial # is 10xx,the bore is very good,it has been fired ,ther isa box full of 44 rimfire shells with two head stamps U and us. It is a grey patina ,no bluing left, stock has a few dings but nothing major. I'll no doubt get my ears filled at the gun show,I know there are Remington collectors there. Thanks for the info so far. I'm sure its not worth 3000$!! JITC
 
The only offers were around 300$ so I still have it but taking it to Belleville show on Sunday. To day I fired it and was impressed not just with the ammo!! This stuff is over 100 yrs old and still works!!!!!!!!!!!! Incredible! JITC
 
I think the price range would be between 3 and 600 unless there is something special or unusual about the gun. I recall buying a large rimfire rolling block about 2 years ago for $250 at a gunshow and sold it for $300.
