On my way to work this morning I stop at a gun show and this followed my home

It is a Remington that has a had a new barrel installed in 50/70. It has had some work done to it but should be fun to play with and shoot. I haven't had much luck finding guns like this at a price that make them worth bring home

Original 1871 Remington Rolling Block,3 band(New York State Militia) in 50-70 Gov
Notice the high spur. Another feature is the half #### safety.

That's a good looking carbine and the NY state rifle too. I shoot a couple of Swede rollers in 12.5X44R using slightly modified 50-70 brass. Mine was built by Husqvarna, under licence from Remington. Reloading and shooting these old BPCRs is a lot of fun.

Nice Rollers, guys!

Mine are in 45-70 and .43 Spanish, both great shooters.
I'd dearly love one in 50-70, my favourite BPCR calibre. Until I track one down, my Sharps Military is my baby.

I love the simplicity of the RB action. if you can break one, you probably shouldn't be allowed to handle guns unsupervised.
