Remington rp9

my local gun store has one in stock. i was real happy and wanted to buy it. then i picked it up amd didnt like the feel in my hand. i also looked at the trigger mech and its all backwards.. kinda weird i ended up not buying it.

Yes, the YouTube reviews sure are not great, true when you consider the competition out there, I would not buy one until they are into the next Gen....

The rp9 is a lemon. I shot the one at csc and had multiple failures to feed as well as failures to eject.

I bought one from the CSC. Took it out to the range last Saturday and Sunday. Sunday I brought 4 brands of ammo with me. and my Glock, just to rule out any ammo issues.

I knew that the early copies of the RP9 had issues, but the later ones seemed to be ok. So I took a chance. Right from the get go, failure to feed, failure to eject, problem on the feed ramp, slide out of battery. Happened with all 4 brands of factory ammo. Used the glock, no issues at all.

So this gun needs work, or needs to be replaced.

Contacted the CSC, they were very supportive, and were willing to help. The repair center is Gravel Agencies, here in Quebec, so I sent in a claim form and other required info, spoke to someone there, also very accommodating, said they will either fix my gun, replace it, or arrange a refund. CSC offered me a store credit which I will accept as well. So I ask the lady at Gravel, what happens if the replacement is just as bad as my first copy? She starts to laugh a bit, says they have a shooting range there, and will test out all their inventory if necessary to find me a good copy. So, lets hope. I did manage to shoot a mag of 6 rounds thru it, and as a shooter its not bad. Its getting bashed on youtube, but I like it. If only it worked properly. Could be I got a lemon.....

Well that definitely sucks for you, although the support seems to be much better than the product. Can't say I'm the least bit surprised the gun isn't running.

If your experience was like the rest you see on YouTube, I doubt yours was the only lemon.

Some would call that a clue. ;)

I bought one when it came to Canada and so far after 400 rounds no issues with mine. I've ran American Eagle 115gr and Remington 124gr.

I have to admit I really like it. Fits the hands really well and shoots extremely nice. I bring it to the range every time I go.

Addendum to my earlier post. I drove up to gravel today in Quebec city. Super nice people. The tech who served me has an rp9 and his runs fine. He looked quickly at mine and saw there was somthing weird with the feed ramp. So they have it now either to fix or replace.
