Remington Seeks Financing To File For Bankruptcy

I could see the ammo manufacturing going separate from the firearm manufacture depending on the restructuring of the company.

May they disappear from the map for good. Low quality crap is not going to sustain any business. Thank God the older stuff is excellent. My 2011 870 works great but is rough and as ugly as sin and has been relegated to the trunk for winter work.

The older stuff is not going to keep the industry energized..... I am no rem fan, but this is bad for all of us.......

This is the Remington booth at Shotshow..... Most other manufacturers have the press interview them... Remington had one sales rep interview another sales rep. Forced excitement abounds but nothing's glorious or price advantageous.

That's shameless, but it's not as bad as the Ruger Gunsite Scout marketing from a few years back. They droned on like you wouldn't believe about this tactical bolt gun, and when you bought the thing you were underwhelmed. I mean this thing did not have a stripper clip guide, which I can see the general shooting population not caring about but you could not load it from the top

I remember sitting there dumbfounded, looking at a scout rifle that you could not topfeed. The next great surprise happened at the range, when the bolt action rifle delivered amazing 1.5-2.5 inch groups. The front sight blade wasn't straight. But it was a great bargain at $1100 bucks plus shipping and tax

Sounds like user error (with exception of the front sight) and not the rifle, I have yet to shoot over 1moa with my 3, and top loading has never been an issue.

It ain’t Rocket Surgery.......

Yeah it had to be user error, I'm a terrible shot, ask anyone who knows me.

The Bdl is imo one of the nicest looking rifles around. I bought a recent manufacture 700 bdl off the exchange a month ago. 270 win. The trigger adjusted easily to 2.5lbs. Bedded it without even firing it first. Shot it yesterday with factory Rem corelokt 130gr. Two groups at 3/4". Not surprised...

Remington made some great firearms, 700s, 870s, 7600's, 552 speedmaster.
For bolt rifles, Savage has more suited my needs, but there is a reason why there are so many after market parts made just for the 700.
And don't forget the fantastic but discontinued SP10. An absolute workhorse.
Its quite sad to see them going under.

It will be primarily demographics...watch as Harley motorcycles is on the block already. A lot of institutions are poised to crash and burn. There is a glut of used on the markets which only stands to increase because the boomers are dying literally.
