Im hearing conflicting stories do the remington semi rifles (740,742,7400) function better with a dry action or lubricated action? tks in advance for all the advice

A lubricated action would be better, an over-lubricated action on the other hand . . . .

Ya gotta have some lube, that bolt is doing a lot of rotating. Too much lube will collect and hold unburned powder and dust.

I have a Rem 760 and I use Tri Flow w/teflon. No problems.

I have heard all kinds of stories about the semis.I shot one for years and never had a problem with it. And believe me if it can have a problem I would have had it. It was carried thru dirt and dust and hayfields on my belly for years.
