Remington single shot

Anybody seen or used one of these centerfire rifles? It's on the website. Looks like a crude Ruger #1 wannabe. Something's not right where the barrel and receiver meet. I get the odd feeling that it reminds me of an ancient take-down single shot .410 I have somewhere, before I snap the fore-end on.

While the Russians are capable of building some very fine firearms these are not one of them.


The word "Crude" actually overstates the quality .............

In fact, I just got the 2008 Remington catalauge today and is how I feel about most of the stuff in there this year.

Appears to be a Baikal with a Remington tag on it. They may look crude, but they do work and some achieve very good accuracy.
There is rumour that the earlier Baikals had barrels made by Steyr-Mannlicher, whether this is true I can't say.

The Bakials single shot bbls I saw had a cool looking twist to them.
