It's a .30-06
I basically filled the butt and foreend wih high density fill. This made the foreend really stiff and reduced any flex which is such a problem with these stocks. I also removed the "nubs" at the tip of the stock and floated the barrel. The idea was to make the rifle more repeatable, not necessarily to create a benchrest quality gun. I'm not saying this thing is going to shoot bug hole groups "all day long". Just before the range closed for the day, I fired off 9 shots in 2 minutes with an already warm barrel to the point were I could not touch the barrel. 7 of the 9 were less than 1" so I was pretty happy. The next thing is to install pillars and glass bed the action.
