Remington TAC-14 Hardwood

It seems there is a trend going on .... resurrecting Shockwave and Tac-14 threads ....

Ok, not a Tac-14 Hardwood .... but a build based on an 870 Police and inspired by this thread ...... much better!!! :)

Is everyone building these on Police Magnums? I found a 870 Wingmaster on consignment at the LGS, that has a metal trigger guard.

This one is 70's-80's vintage.

Vintage should be good to go .... police were using these before the “police magnum” existed. Dimples, plastic triggers, etc are newer cost saving measures.

Apparently, some of the guns marked 2 3/4” will actually cycle the 3” shells as the receivers were the same at some point, but I’m not an expert by far ... there should be a few threads on how to found out on here somewhere. I’m not sure when the flexitab thing started either, but those old wingmasters are great.

Lots of threads on old wingmasters too.

Flexi-tabs came in the late/mid 80's (85 or 86 IRC) You can do anything with a Wingmaster that you can do with a Police. If you're worried about needing the Flexi Tab, you can either do it yourself (replace the parts needed), or send it to Tacord and get the ejector swapped/cut for a 3 inch at the same time. If you're looking at an older (last century) used Wingmaster and it's not stupid expensive, buy it - you won't find anything better built.
