From what I can see in your pic, the receiver appears to actually be parkerized as the earlier police models were.
Previous Expresses seemed to have a bead blasted finish and blues/blackened. These would rust easily if left unattended.
I’m sure you’re pleased with your purchase. I’d have no regrets with that one.

Maybe not. The seller might have replaced the follower and forgot about it. Maybe this run of 870s came with the Dlask follower if REM had purchase them from Dlask.
It’s an upgrade anyway. Though I do prefer the S&J, or Wilson followers myself.
Pretty easy to tell if the gun has been fired and cleaned.

There's no way a company like Remington would have purchased parts from Dlask etc. That is certainly a post-import modification. The follower was likely replaced at the consumer level.

It's an old pre re. Arms wirh an aftermarket follower
All new rem arms ome with standard flower
Also. Top of receiver is correctly milled and uses a new 3 hole some mount
