remington tac star modification

Just picked up the TacStar 6 shell side holster for my remington 870

put it on, low and behold u have to modify the for-end. does anyone know the dimensions to cut or have a pic or link to give me the info on how to cut it properly? or if someone has done it themselves, any help is appreciated

I just pulled the forend back, then scored it where it overlapped the front of the receiver.

Then I took the forend off, slapped it in a miter box and cut with a miter saw.

A q tip and some stain, and you would never guess bubba had been at it.

PS...in order to save yourself future grief, disassemble the Tac Star sidesaddle and Loctite the six bolts that hold it together.

dont cut your factory forend just buy another short one, we have some by houge for $35.

Is it a synthetic or wooden forend?
I have the synthetic and had the same problem. I milled it out with a Dremel. It looks fine and functions well, took about 10min and cost me nothing. If it was wooden I think I'd have opted for a new, shorter forend.
