Remington Thunder Bolts 22LR did good?

The Remington thunderbolts are the worst shells I have ever bought . I few years back I bought 3 bricks (1500rnds) and I have never had so many missfires out of any 22lr shell in my life . You would pull the trigger and some would sound like wet farts if they went off at all. I have tryed them in probly 20 rifles with all the same results. Each brick had a different lot # as well , Remington did refund me for my troubles.

I have to agree with this post. Remington make great firearms but these shells are the worst. Every magazine I had at least one misfire some shot sounded like a pellet rifle others were like a .223 . Totally garbage.

Noticed something interesting at the range the other day:

I was given a box of Federal Target 40 grain solids along with various other ammo. So I'm trying them out in my Kimber SVT.

Unless I was given a fake box of Federal Target ammo, well it looks and shoots exactly the same as the Dirty bird American eagle 40 grain solids that I like so much (for cheap semi accurate plinking). I know it's the same company but....
The results were identical through this rifle, and I compared the rounds side by side. They looked identical to me.

Just something I though was worth mentoning.

So far the Kimber SVT shoots the Lapua the best.

Hey eagleye any other suggestions for ammo to try with this rifle?

I won't buy Remington Rimfire. I tried Cyclones, T-Bolts, and Yellow Jackets. The ammunition is varying in QC from lot to lot - my personal favorite is when a brick of Yellow Jackets I bought weren't crimped properly and you could actually see the bullet wobbling loosely. T-Bolts in all honesty were the best of the three as sometimes it would shoot well but for the most part I wasn't impressed with Remington stuff. The only other rimfire ammunition I had issues with was an old box of Federal Rimfire (it was in a nice plastic 100 round brick) - I think they had a silver label with something like Classic or some such on it. I had to shoot many of the rounds twice to fire it off and in some cases it just wouldn't fire at all (3+ strikes on the rim in differing spots) never touched it again. For the cheap stuff those loose pack Dynapoints seem to be pretty decent.

Epoxy try some Eley - the cheaper lines don't seem to be too bad I have both practice and some older one "Club" I think it was. Pretty good for inexpensive ammo.

I haven't had any luck with any Rem .22 ammo except the "golden bullets" shoot OK out of my 22/45.
For Winchester, even the Target stuff sucked in all my .22s. Only Winny ammo that shot good was the Wildcat crap.
I stick with CCI Blazers now for the cheap plinking ammo, function all my semi's, shoot really good in all my guns, and shoot pretty clean as well.

shot a bulk box of federals today, couple ftf, couple stove pipes which i figure is a gun/mag problem, no misfire though, overall i am happy with the fed. bulk pack

Epoxy7; As someone else suggested, see if you can find a box of Eley Target, Eley Match EPS [expensive]. Also be good to try RWS Rifle Match and Lapua Master L & M. Your Kimber will like something in that mix well. Keep track of lot #'s It does make a difference! International imports will sell individual bricks to try, and will accomodate if you find a lot number that works particularly well. Regards, Eagleye

TB is horribly dirty. I went with CCI Stingers instead and I'm a lot happier. Placebo effect?

Will do. I may even have some Eley around. I tried them in my 10/22 target model a few years ago (It liked the Lapua better).
