Remington thunderbolts and misfires

Turd bolts. poor/ unreliable in over ten different .22 rifles and handguns. Tossed 500 rounds into enclosed campfire!! Best performance yet? P.S. stand back

The other day, I was at the range. I shot about 50 rounds in total. Of that 50, two were duds. I'm 99% sure I'm firing Remington Thunderbolts.

Has anyone else had a high number of duds? Is this to be expected or is this maybe just a bad batch?

Can you explain the above highlighted portion of your post?

Thank you.

Well, at least a Thunderbolt bullet never got stuck in the barrel of my Kadet,

like one from a box of Win. 333's did.

Better to not fire at all, than just make it half way down the barrel!

Yes, I noticed it before firing again.

never again,

i refuse to run thunderbolts anymore, i had a 1/25 failure rate for firing in my 10/22 and a much higher rate of what i call "weak-ass firing where it would fire but with this weak almost apologetic "poof" and then drop to the ground at about 50yd, now the only other ammo i would refuse to run is again remington golden bullet where my ruger would consisently rip the primer bases off upon ejection.

Yeah, I don't remember because I don't have the box with me. Just a bag full of ammo :)

When I go home and find the box I'll know for sure. I know they're remington. I also know they were cheap so most likely thunderbolts.

The Vipers and Yellow Jackets work well for me, but the Thunderduds and Dudsonics, not so much. I have one particular rimfire rifle that is very picky about ammo, and the best I have found so far are the Federal Game Shok.

Thunderbolts are not a consistent ammo... higher than average FTF and FTE... lots of squibs... fffssssttt!

Other Remmy's are better, but truthfully after a lot of testing from alot of guns... the Remmy's just could not shoot with comparable CCI's...

CCI SSHP's and SV's shoot more consistently and more accurately out of ALL of our guns than Rem Sub's...

CCI Mini-Mags shoot better than any of the Rem HV rounds...

CCI Velocitor's and Stinger's shoot better than the Rem Hyper rounds (YJ and Vipers)...

Basically we have completely given up on Remmy rimfire loads... waste of time and money... in our experience.

Wow. Bold-ed for extra emphasis. Must be true then.

I bold all posts... just got in the habit, it stands out when you are quoting... and true or not, it is my expereince... and you'll have to take my word for that... or not... but then why read anything on the internet...

Believe it or not, sometimes I read the Internet purely for entertainment.;)

Now see? Usually I would have simply bold-ed the portion of your post I was referring to, but I can't do that, now can I? So I had to delete some of it......

Haven't shot the Thunderbolts but was shooting some Remington Golden Bullet 525 Pack on Sunday. I couldn't get through a magazine full in my Ruger Mk II without a dud. A bit of a PITA.

Good thing it was not a life and death situation and just metal plates. ;)
