looks like another dreaded push feed (or is that a bush feed)Remington:confused:

stubblejumper should like this one:D

some guys have the face;) to post the wildest stuff:)

Looks good! How does it compare to a regular SS Mountain Rifle? Is it much lighter? How is the balance?

Its about a half pound lighter than a LSS mtn rifle, and the balance point is right in the middle of the floorplate

real nice rig, everytime I pick it up I say WHAT a rifle :D

had it out today to the range, tried two loads in it

first was 200 gr. Lapua Mega semi spitzers over H4350, did 2480 fps average and under 1" groups. Recoil wasnt too bad either :D Will go out again this week and try for 2550 fps.

also tried some 168 gr. Nosler J4 match bullets over IMR 4064, did 2730 fps avg & good groups, around moa.

both loads were with virgin Lapua brass. I let the barrel cool to cold between shots, or else accuracy spread to 1.5" or so  I can live with the wait :D

load development looks done

last night three 168 TSX landed into .38" @ 100 yards over 58 grains H4350, producing 2832 fps avg. & extreme spread of 10 fps. Lapua once fired brass & Federal 210M.

time to go hunting :D

Tod, does the accuracy suffer when you stoke them up faster?
That is a wicked accurate gun for sure. Nice work.

Noel

That IS stoked up for a 30-06 w/165's and 22" bbl actually....and I'd be pretty happy with a 168 TSX at those speeds shooting like that!

I've owned a heap of 30-06's and 2800fps w/22" bbl and 165's is what to expect... a few more fps (30-50 fps) is bonus... too much more is foolish!

Looks like we're good to go for bear now "Tod"!

2900 is doable with a 24" tube w/some powders (I typially got 2850-2870fps). I THINK the nosler uses a 24" tube, but may be wrong (I usually am (grin)).

I don't think you're wrong at all. It seems about right and is a very respectable load, especially when it lets Dr. Bartell shoot just like Davey Crockett!:)

I only wish I could get a 3/4 or at least moa on a regular basis. This kid is a machine.:D

this load is actually pretty warm. there is slight ejector marks on the case head, I wouldnt push it any harder :)

Had a quick check in my OLD Barnes manual last night, wanted to see if I was on glue or not.
With the standard X Bullet they are listing a max of 2960 with RL19 in a 24" tube so it looks like Dr. Bartell is right on the mark if you lose roughly 50fps per inch.
Not to mention each rifle will react to the same load differently, just to save a huge fiasco starting up here.

Let us know how it works this fall Tod!

Be careful Doctor, that one looks small enough to pet still.:p

Amphibious, that is, I just have to, , what the Doctor ordered!:D :D :D

Tod, have you tried the 200gr Accubonds in your Ti?

We are tryng some loads in Nuggets 300 saum and they seem to shoot fairly well. Keep in mind we consider moa pretty good!
