New Remingtons are junk.
Some Remington employees came to a certain Duck Hunting Hot spot in Ontario with the CTI Remingtons last Semi-auto. By the end of the hunt they had all malfunctioned and were un-usable, the every single original Versa-max was recalled.

I'll let someone else spend their money to give the Versa Max "a chance." I'll spend mine on a gun I'm more sure of than anything coming out of Remington these days. The CTI has nothing to do with the versa max. In fact, that is why I said people weren't giving the versa max a chance because of Remington's past failures. And everyone is quite aware that the Versa Max was recalled. That was before they were really on the market and very few were sold. However, there are many who are admitting the Versa Max is now a fine working shotgun, at least from all the opinions I have read on other forums. Have you read something to the contrary or are you just calling them junk because you have something against Remington. What I mean is, when someone asks for an opinion, don't just claim them to be junk if the guns that have been released to the public since the recall are working fine and like they are supposed to work. If they are working like Remington claims they will work, and they appear to be, then that is what should be reported on. If they weren't working, trust me, everyone would know by now. But since they are, you don't hear that much from all those who were hoping it would fail because they can't say much about them except for they were recalled.
If someone wants to save a few bucks and buy an unproven design from a company with a previous history of failed new designs, a well-earned reputation for declining quality control and piss poor aftermarket service then be my guest.
It doesn't make sense to beta test Remington's new offering when there are proven designs and products already on the market that do not share the same checkered history and dubious prospects of Remington.

Everyone makes a decision. I'd rather not risk buying a potential POS with a greater likelihood of failure just because it's made by an American company. If the gun craps out jingoistic patriotism about America won't make up for the experience of sitting in a duck blind with a gun that doesn't work. And do you drive a General Motors product or Chrysler product.. 2 years back they were in a heap of trouble because of poor marketing, poor quality control, too many models people didn't want etc, etc. They required billions of tax payers dollars to bail them out. Now supposedly they are doing well because of changes made (don't know if it's all true). But by you analogy, people should have said to hell with GM and let them fall because of past performance. I mean why would someone buy a product from someone, who by all accounts at the time, was on the verge of closing down. Yet people did take a chance on them because of changes made and supposedly at this point in time, they have turned around. Wouldn't it have been sad for the North American economy if people would have said because of past performance, I am buying a Honda because they are proven. GM was proven at one time as well and so was Remington.
