Remington Versamax Tactical or Benelli M2?

You can get the Benelli M2 with a 21" barrel (i.e non tactical model) which I believe if very popular with the three gun crowd, the trick is to get an additional 26" or 28" barrel which so far I have not had any success with.

You think the longer barrel is necessary? From what I'm seeing, the Versamax Tactical is a great buy. Bigger chamber to load. But the Benelli M2 is very reliable, light and I love the handling of it. Super torn lol

My experience with the VMT was 100% positive. No hiccups of any kind, from the very first shell. Some of the first ammo I ran through it were light recoil and target rounds, it required no break-in whatsoever to function perfectly. No failures of any kind, with any ammo. I wouldn't pick an inertia driven gun over the Versa Max after owning it myself.

I'm thinking more about the Versamax Tactical, but no one in Southern Ontario that I know of stocks it. I just want to handle one. Loved the Benelli M2, but I think the VMT is a better buy overall... If anyone has a VMT in stock in Southern Ontario let me know...

I you are going to buy a VersaMax my advice to you is to make sure the sales person assembles the gun for you and then you check to make sure the barrel is actually straight before you pay for it! Most of the ones I've looked at are crooked and the longer the barrel the worse they get! The vent rib models are pretty easy to verify...on others it's a little harder. Actually, that advice goes for all shotguns but the Remingtons seem to have above average issues in that department! All the more reason to stick to the old Wingmaster! :)

Thanks for the info, ended up going there today and picking one up. Very nice guys over there, I'm sure I will back for a few more. Ended up going with Versamax, because of a few things. 1 - the 22" barrel vs the 18.5" from Benelli, I think with 3 gun and for what I want to do the 22" was a better choice. 2 - the price was about $400 difference between that and the M2. 3 - Great handling gun in my hands, just felt right IMO.
