From a strictly accuracy standpoint, I'd go with the Rem.700, but fit is important, a gun that doesn't fit well seems to recoil more.

Yes, the S2 Vanguard is a very nice rifle. I have my eye on one in .240Wby when it comes out.
vanguard is not guaranteed sub moa.... they bench test every rifle and the ones that are sub moa are sold for extra $

Vanguard being hinged floor plate makes them unsuitable to my needs.

He'll get the S2 if he orders the S2, different product numbers than the old model.
Vanguard S2 would be more reliable than a 700, on extractor and one-piece bolt alone...
